Mike Haywood works as a general manager across all aspects of secondary resource management, including the three main streams: municipal solid waste; construction and demolition; and commercial and industrial waste. Since starting MikeH-SRS he has specialised in alternative fuels, product processing and creating and developing beneficial reuse of various waste materials.

Practitioner work to increase the volume of raw materials recovered from the waste stream across MSW, C&D and C&I, plus protocols for waste soils, plant and equipment projects, and asbestos identification and systems to ensure removal or rejection within approved recycling processes.

Was a key driver in developing Australia's first ever alternative fuels process and facility in South Australia, and was instrumental in establishing a similar facility in New South Wales. These facilities set the standard for the use of alternative fuels in cement kilns in Australia. Currently advising Verdant Earth Technologies on the use of waste woody biomass fuels for the Redbank Power Station restart program.
